Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport is an airport serving the city of Bari in Italy. It is approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) northwest from the town centre. Named after Pope John Paul II, who was born Karol Wojtyła, the airport is also known as Palese Airport after a nearby neighbourhood. The airport handled 5 545 588 passengers in 2019.
Apulia offers a total of four airports, but the major and most popular are two: Bari Palese airport in the city of Bari, which is the main of the region, and Brindisi Casale airport, Brindisi, which serves the whole area of Salento.

The choice will be obvious in most cases. If you are travelling to Ostuni or anywhere south of Ostuni (Gallipoli, Lecce, Otranto) Brindisi's Salento airport will make better sense. If you are heading to Gargano or north of Bari, or travelling directly to Matera, Bari airport is better placed.
